No hangover this morning, from Cinco de Mayo celebrations, so I was able to be up early and get ready for my trip today, to PA! I am very excited to see my family and friends and play some gigs in the city I love so much! There should be regular posts during my trip! You can also follow me on twitter! If you don't know how, then forget about it, haha!!!! Wish me safe travels!!! XO

Congrats to my friend and old boss, Charlie Sexton on his marriage to Carrie Hiner-Berry! How could they be any happier!? I am thrilled as love does make the world go 'round!

In other news, I will be heading to PA this week for my annual May trip, playing some gigs, seeing friends and family and just enjoying Pennsylvania! I ALMOST have another song done, written about the feelings I sometimes get when I am elsewhere and something reminds me of back home - a scent, someone's accent, a memory of my childhood - and of course, I MUST write everything down. This song will mention the river I grew up next to, the Youghiogheny. Many people have asked me HOW TO PRONOUNCE THIS CRAZY AND STRANGE WORD!!! (And some people surprise me when they pronounce it correctly - but then I find out that they guided white water rafting tours at Ohiopyle when they were young adults, or their Grandparents grew up down river from where I did!)
Here it is.
Drum roll.
. . . .
YOCK - ah - GAIN - ee. Got it? We folks from that area usually call it "the Yock!" So, now you know!

I got to jam last night after my Moviegrille gig, with the famed Lab Rats of Ogden Canyon! It was late and I had just played for 3 hours, so I didn't stay too long, but long enough to play drums on "Rockin' In The Free World" (probably the only song I can actually play drums on!!!) and then sang on "Gold Dust Woman" something I have never sung before! (Except to the record!) THANKS Keith, Kurt, Wayne, Jim, Kent, for always accommodating me and making me feel like an actual lab mouse!

Happy May! I have been watching and keeping up on a nest of Bald Eagles and their 3 babies (aka H2, H3 and H4 - H1 was born and raised last year!) that are near Pittsburgh and have a constant webcam on them, day and night! It has been fascinating watching them grow and now the 2 oldest are really starting to change. H4 was born a week plus after H2 and 3 so he/she is slightly smaller and developing differently than the two older siblings. You should check this out!
Eagle Cam
It's hard not to smile while viewing these guys!!!!

My old pal and band mate from a few different projects in the 80s, Matt Sorum, finally has released his latest solo recording which I received in the mail the other day and am loving it! The songs are great - you can hear his influences, Bowie, Nick Drake, one of the songs reminds me of Roxy Music... Very cool.

You can order a hard copy at amazon.com which is what I did, or download it NOW at iTunes - also available at Best Buy! Go Matt!!! Please support indie music! And also, congrats to Matt on his wedding to Ace Harper!!! It's about time, dude!

Here we are at the NAMM show this year!

It is finally here! My video of "Emmaline!"

This was a labor of love and alot of hard work, but I really enjoyed shooting all of the footage and editing this. Hope that you enjoy it! Some of you have been begging me for a video, so here it is!!!!

"Emmaline"

Now I want to do a video for every new song (and maybe some of my old tunes) that I record, because I LOVED DOING IT!

The winter season is about over now, and I only have a few apres-ski shows left to play and then it will be spring into summer. Some of the exciting bookings that I have so far are the Ogden Farmer's Market in Ogden, Utah, the Boston Waterfront in PA and "Tunes at Noon" in Ogden, this summer. I will also be in the Jackson, Wyoming area but am not sure when. Please check my tour dates on the website frequently, as I add shows here and there!

I have also been catching up on some TV shows that people have suggested to me, including the really cool Sons of Anarchy! I am in the middle of season 5 (that was fast, I just started it!!!!) and really love the writing, the acting, the characters. My pal Kelly told me that it is a soap opera about bikers and yup, it IS! And it is GREAT! Love the music and even though it is gory at times, I really am enjoying the whole thing.

Thanks to my pals at Kelly's Roadhouse for turning me onto this!

Besides playing and writing, I have also been working on a new project, a music video! Since I have been blessed with being artistic and very visual plus having a good knowledge of computers, I have shot some footage (ALOT of footage!) and have compiled my own music video. It is very exciting!!! The song I chose to work on is my latest release, "Emmaline" which is for sale at cdbaby.com, the link you can find here on my website under the music tab. It is just about finished and I will be releasing it SOON SOON SOON! So, look out here for the news or on my Facebook page! A little screen shot of the video:

Stay tuned!

The spring and summer seasons are upon us, so if there is someplace that you would like to see me perform at this year, please let me know the name of the place and address and who the booking person is, or just send me any info that you have! I am looking for some new places and would love to tour more than I have been in the past couple of years. It has been ages since I have been to Nashville, Baltimore, Duluth, Bishop. I would love to also make my way to Oregon and Washington at some point in time, especially now that I have so many friends living in those states! (Friend and family tours, ya know!) Let me know if you see some great place where they have live music, and I will contact them about putting a show together! THANKS!!!!
