|Che Zuro's June/July 2012 Journal|
July 24, 2012
Wow, I really thought I was going to be keeping up this journal, but with so many gigs plus my travel plans during the months of June and July, I just lacked the time to keep you informed!!! I will try to catch up with some things and then hope to update more often!
Today is Pioneer Day in Utah, a State holiday and a big celebration of the Days of 47, when the Mormon Pioneers came
to the Utah territory and settled here. There are parades and rodeos and fireworks and music and all sorts of festivities going on all over the state, lots to do, lots to see, lots to celebrate!
I personally do not have any ancestors who settled in Utah, but I think it is great that Utahns everywhere celebrate their heritage. Are there any heritage days/festivals in your state? Being from Pennsylvania, I do not remember anything like "Penn Days" but in that state there are the usual county fairs and ethnic festivals, like International Village at Renzie Park in McKeesport. That festival has gotten to be only a few days, but "back in the day" it was a week long, with food booths, ethnic dancing, and celebration of the melting pot of the area.
Enjoy your day of celebration Utah friends, and everyone else, have fun at work! Tee hee...
